Self-responsibility
Players are responsible for rules and conflict resolution themselves, and assess their own performance self-critically.
Fast. Fair. Passionate.
No referee. No excuses. Just respect, team spirit, and a flying disc.
Ultimate Frisbee is a fast, dynamic team sport: teams pass the disc to score points — entirely without referees.
With a strong focus on fairness, respect, and teamwork, the sport is growing worldwide and offers fun and challenge for all skill levels alike.
The disc carrier may not run. The disc is advanced through passes.
Catch the disc in the opponent's end zone = point.
After each point, teams switch sides for fair conditions.
The central core of Ultimate — shaped by players themselves since the sport's beginnings and still an integral part of every game today.
Players are responsible for rules and conflict resolution themselves, and assess their own performance self-critically.
Constructive, respectful communication is key to avoiding or quickly resolving conflicts.
No "winning at all costs". Acknowledging the better team, following the rules, and friendship come first.
There are no traditional referees. That's why respect and a sense of responsibility matter all the more.
"Friendship and respect, not winning at all costs."
Spirit of the Game — the guiding principle of Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate is a non-stop sport with intense sprints and rapid changes of direction.
Precise, controlled throws are essential — from the backhand to the forehand to the hammer.
Tactical thinking and good decisions at the right moment make all the difference.
Three throws form the foundation of every Ultimate player.
The most fundamental and most frequently used throw. The power comes from a strong forward wrist motion.
A throwing technique with a forward wrist motion — versatile and harder for the opponent to read.
The disc is thrown overhead — an advanced throw that experienced players use for surprising passes.
175g discs are used in competition. Here are two proven models:

The classic
No! Ultimate is suitable for all skill levels. Many clubs offer training sessions for beginners. The most important thing is enjoyment of the game and an openness to the Spirit of the Game.
That's right. In Ultimate, traditional referees are dispensed with. Players resolve conflicts themselves, which requires a high degree of fairness. At high competitive levels, however, there are Observers who can be called upon when needed.
An Ultimate game is typically played to a set score (e.g. 15 points) or for a fixed duration. Depending on the format, a game can last between 45 minutes and 2 hours.
To get started, sportswear and good running shoes are sufficient. A 175g competition disc (e.g. eurodisc® or Discraft Ultrastar) is recommended, but many clubs have discs available to try on site.
New players are warmly welcome. Just drop by training — the community is happy to welcome anyone who wants to pick up a disc.
