DDC is frisbee in tight quarters: 2 against 2, two discs in the air at once, precise throws, lightning-fast reactions and plenty of teamwork.

2 vs 2 Outdoor & Indoor First to 21 points Official competition sport

Double Disc Court explained

DDC is one of the fastest and most tactically demanding frisbee disciplines: two teams of two players compete simultaneously with two discs.

The goal is to land your disc in the opponent's zone without it being caught, while defending your own zone at the same time. The game can be played outdoors and indoors and demands precision, speed and teamwork in equal measure.

Precision

Every throw counts. The disc must land exactly in the zone to score a point.

Speed

Two discs in play at once: attack and defence run in parallel with no break.

Teamwork

Who throws, who catches, who covers? Communication and trust decide the game.

How the game is played

A clear setup and a few key rules: DDC is quick to learn and hard to master.

Team A Zone A Team B Zone B Neutral Zone 18.3 m 13.4 m

Standard court: 13.4 m wide × 18.3 m long. Two team zones, marked with lines.

One hand only

The disc may only be touched and played with one hand at a time.

No ground contact

If the disc touches the ground, it counts as a point or fault depending on which zone it lands in.

3-second rule

After catching or touching the disc, it must be thrown again within 3 seconds.

Simultaneous play

Both teams play at the same time: attack and defence run in parallel with both discs in play.

When do you score a point?

Scoring is straightforward: your team scores when the opponent fails to control the disc.

How to score

  • Your disc lands in the opponent's zone without being caught
  • The opponent's disc touches the ground in your zone
  • The opposing team throws the disc out of bounds

Win condition

  • Play to 21 points
  • A lead of at least 2 points is required to win
  • If time runs out without a sufficient lead, the team with more points wins

What you need

DDC requires little but the right things. Here is the complete checklist for your first session.
